TREY GAUTHREAUX AND DANE VON HAGEN – THE STUMBLE OUT
October 18, 2024, West Monroe, LA
The atmosphere crackled with anticipation before tonight’s performance. With swagger and smiles, Trey Gauthreaux and Dane Von Hagen took the stage with a captivating rendition of “Folsom Prison Blues” by Johnny Cash, followed by “Proud Mary.” The venue trembled as their music spilled into the streets. The audience cheered when they played Stevie Ray Vaughan’s “Pride and Joy.” Their soulful voices intertwined with rich guitar tones, painting the walls in amber and gold hues, accentuating the autumn air. It was a great night for music and fellowship in Briarcliff Borough.
Nestled in the rolling hills of West Monroe along the Arkansas Road corridor, The Stumble Out has quickly established itself as a vibrant musical hub. Some of the biggest names in the local music scene play here.
There is undeniable musical chemistry when Trey and Dane perform. As they played “Long Haired Country Boy” by Charlie Daniels, Skyler Board, lead singer of The Red Flags, casually walked by my table and whispered, “They’re killing it, Tom.” She was right. They were killing it, and the audience loved it. They played our favorite songs well into the night including ‘Take a Load Off Annie,” “Neon Moon,”” Brown Eyed Girl,” “Take it Easy” and ‘Peaceful Easy Feeling.” This was a great night for music.
Trey and Dane shared two pieces of exciting news with me during a break. They were headed to Grayson, KY, after tonight’s show to perform at the Dirt Slinger concert. After their Kentucky engagement, Dane would go to Nashville for a few days to do some recording. Dane assured me he would return to the West Monroe area. It is noted that Trey and Dane performed at the 2024 NELA Music Awards and The Stumble Out is a sponsor. There is a lot happening in the Northeast Louisiana music scene. Godspeed, Trey, and Dane.
Thank you, Megan Mcentyre and Camile Braxton, for sharing the history of the venue and helping me fully appreciate the journey of The Stumble Out. A special appreciation to The Stumble Out for investing in the community and supporting live music.
