LOUISIANA ART & FOLK FESTIVAL – CALDWELL PARISH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
October 12, 2024
As the October sun casts a warm glow over historic downtown Columbia, throngs of people gathered to enjoy one of Northeast Louisiana’s fall traditions, the Louisiana Art & Folk Festival. The sound of children laughing and playing intertwined with the delightful aroma of corndogs and funnel cakes.
The townscape was beautiful, dressed in a kaleidoscope of colors by the vendors selling their wares. There was a distant roar from hot rods revving their engines at the car show. It was a beautiful day in Columbia, LA.
There was music throughout the day from Mike McKenzie, Calvin Presley, Clara Rae, CPHS Choir & Owens Family, The McClanahan’s, and Calvin Duncan Jr. I arrived in time to hear The McClanahan’s. If you like your gospel with a little rock edge, this is your band. The gritty guitar and soulful voice resonated across the Caldwell Parish Courthouse Square. The audience responded with cheers and amens. I had a great time today.
Thank you, Caldwell Parish Chamber of Commerce and your team for putting on the Louisiana Art & Folk Festival. It was a complete success.
Tom M.
